NICU- Day 17 and bleary eye Day 18

Abby did not get her picc line out. She is still spitting up a lot and they have lowered her food from 25ml to 23ml (they were going to increase her to 26ml max). They have also tried expanding her tube feedings out to 90 minutes. She has been heaving and was so sickly looking early this morning (Sunday) that it scared me a lot. She did become her self later and had a couple of good feedings but went back to having a couple of moderate spit ups after the other feedings. She is also holding at 1280 grams. The nurses are not too concerned as she did just go up on the 20/24 calorie mix and think she has just stalled and needs to adjust. The set back still worries me, but I keep praying and will try not to worry until the nurses and doctors do.

Jack continues to be Jack. He now weights 5lbs 3oz and has taken 9 of his last ten bottles as of 2am Monday. If he keeps this up he will be home in the next couple of days. He has taken 4 since his last half taken one so he has 12 more to go! Not in too big of a rush, but proud of him because he is now at 49ml and counting.

  1. You're doing great. It's impossible not to worry, but you're listening to your heart and to the nurses and that's key. Switching formulas takes 72 hours or more, so she could be pretty urpy and spitty for a few days. After that, though, you'll see more great progress again. Love you all!!
