NICU- Day 5

Jack and Abby did great through the night. The nurse practitioner said they both look great on paper. She increased Jack's feedings to +3 ml each feeding and will hit his max of 43ml (1.5 oz) at 2am. He is tiring out and not taking it all via bottle and is getting a lot through the tube. The nurse said we did  not want to do too well too fast so he can stay here longer with Abby. This would make it easier because it will be hard when we have to split out time between 2! Jack also got moved to a big boy bed and is staying on the warm side so holding temp well. Our night nurse also went ahead and took his iv out because he was done with it ( it was going to be capped off) and coming out.

Abby's tummy is still adjusting to her food and she spits up a few hours later. She still has lot of mucus. She did finally have another bm so she is finally doing better and doesn't need an enema. The nurse threatened both with one and they both did their business lol. Although she is the same age because she is half Jack's size we have to go much slower with her milestones. Her picc line did great today and needed no adjusting. We also got to do Kangaroo care again. Love snuggling with her.

The night nurse arranged another picture of all four of us together and put a little bow in Abby's hair. She was not too impressed by all the fuss. We did manage to get some precious ones of her and Jack. It was a good day and a great feeling knowing that they are ours.
