Our babies are one week old today!!
Someone asked what a Bradycardia spell was. It is when the heart beat slows down to below (in Abby's case) 80. Abby is getting her self out of them but if they continue they will put her on caffeine.
Jack is doing wonderful. He was a lazy eater yesterday but he is back to about half bottle/half tube feeding today. He will have to nipple every bottle and take all of it for at least two days before they consider releasing him.
Abby is doing good. Handling her 10 ml a day feedings and getting lots of beauty rest. They will do more labs in the morning to check on her sodium, etc. Basically a wait and see with her. We are having another care conference next week and are going to see about getting her transferred to the local hospital at home. Not that she "needs" to be transferred, we would just like them both where they belong! Though I also know it is doubtful, it can't hurt to ask.
Had 2 kangaroo care snuggle times today. Love them and I can tell by her monitors that it is helping her. She gained over an ounce and is back at birth weight!! Jack only gained a few grams but both going in the right direction. Now that Abby's meals are increased I am hoping to see steady weight gain but know it won't be that fast.
Overall another great day and just taking it one day at a time.
